Venerable Kay Goldsworthy to be consecrated Bishop
In an historic announcement Anglican Archbishop Roger Herft has informed the Diocese of Perth about the consecration of The Venerable Kay Goldsworthy to be a Bishop in the Church of God in the Diocese of Perth.
After prayerful deliberation and obtaining advice from others, Archbishop Herft brought the name of The Venerable Kay Goldsworthy to the Diocesan Council.
The Diocesan Council unanimously endorsed the nomination.
Kay will be consecrated in St George’s Cathedral on Thursday 22 May 2008 at 7.00pm. The Venerable Goldsworthy will be the first Woman Bishop in Australia in the Anglican Church.
