The ecumenical Social Justice Roundtable in Perth, Western Australia invites you to join us in praying for positive outcomes at the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (Cop15).
From December 7-18, 2009, the city of Copenhagen will host the most important climate change-related meeting since the 1997 meeting at which the Kyoto Protocol was adopted.
The Kyoto Protocol expires in 2012, meaning that a new agreement needs to be reached at the Cop15 meeting if it is to come into affect before this happens.
Please join us as we pray that our world’s leaders will make good choices and come to a new agreement which is sufficiently bold enough to address issues of climate change.
All the world’s major governments now accept that global warming is a reality, and that it represents a great threat to the future habitability of the planet. Despite this, the negotiations about how to address the threats of climate change aren’t expected to be easy.
Join with us as we offer daily prayers for the environment, as well as for peace, understanding, willingness to listen, safety, courage, justice and positive outcomes in Copenhagen.
By signing up on the Planet Prayer website, between December 4-18 you will receive a daily email which will include a bible reading, a prayer and prayer points for that day. You can unsubscribe at any time. Full copies of the resources are also available in advance, by request.
To sign up, visit the website at http://planetprayer.wordpress.com/ or sign up below.

Re Planet Prayer
I thought I’d signed up for this earlier, but nothing seems to be coming through.
Is it operational?
Shalom,

I think it is good that wish everyone to pray but anyone who is a believer in the religions from The Middle East have no scripture to advise. The God of the old testement said ” go and conquer the earth” and we have taken his advise and we are in a mess. Jesus also killed a Fig tree for no intelligent reason and taught nothing on environmental issues. Judaism, Christianity and Islam are not Green Religions. They must obtain their knowledge from an outside source. It is a great shame that we were not introduced to Buddhism centuries ago as Buddhism teaches about INTERDEPENDENCE of EVERYTHING.
